HUGE EVENT! Anti-fur demo at Maxfields
When: Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm
Where: 8825 Melrose, Los Angeles, CA 90069 (One door west of Robertson)
Please Dress in BLACK! Your presence is requested at Maxfields on Melrose on Saturday, Feb 11th at 12 PM. We need you to participate in this demo, on this high profile weekend, at this high profile spot on Melrose and Robertson! Trendy, celebrity-driven Maxfields carries every type of fur and in the most unconscionable, trivial way— as baby blankets, motor cycle helmets, etc! Let’s keep the celebs, who being image conscious will not want to cross a “demo line”, out of Maxfields on Grammys weekend when they are certain to be dropping by!!
At the beginning of the Fur Free WeHo campaign Maxfields agreed to remove all fur from their West Hollywood store. In return, we thanked them and gave them great press around the world. They removed the fur for awhile but when they felt the coast was clear— restocked it. They lied to us. Moreover, they wrote letters to the Mayor and City of West Hollywood in strong opposition to the fur ban. Without a doubt, Maxfields has demonstrated that they are in favor of animal cruelty.
This will be a peaceful demo. Everyone is asked to dress in BLACK, as if you were going to a funeral. Show Maxfields, the Grammys and the World that unlike Maxfields you do not support cruelty. Please share this with anyone you know or complete strangers! We look forward to seeing you there. We want a MASSIVE TURNOUT as there is a lot of foot and car traffic at this intersection!!!
